How the Workshop Works
- The trainer demonstrates in a Jamf Pro instance of their own. You then repeat each task on your own test Mac device (or a macOS virtual machine) and in your own Jamf Pro instance. TexArxs does not provide Jamf Pro instances for participants.
- Sessions are not recorded.
- Eight sessions of 2 hours. Part A, Apple, is 6 hours (Sessions 1 to 3). Part B, Jamf Pro, is 10 hours (Sessions 4 to 8).
- Certificate: a TexArxs certificate of completion for attending at least 6 of the 8 sessions. It is not a vendor certification.
What to Know Before You Register
What You Need
- A Mac device you can safely experiment on, running macOS 27 Golden Gate on Apple silicon, or a macOS virtual machine. Please do not use a work or production device.
- A backup of that Mac device, or a virtual machine snapshot, taken before the first session.
- A test Apple Account, not your personal one.
- A stable internet connection and a plain text editor. A second screen helps.
- Your own Jamf Pro instance, ready before Session 4. TexArxs does not provide instances. Sessions 1 to 3 do not need one, but the labs in Sessions 4 to 8 do.
- Basic IT knowledge: networking, user accounts and using a command line. No Mac or device management experience is needed.
What You Receive
- A TexArxs course pack in Word: setup guide, pre-reads, lab guides for all eight sessions with worksheets, a quick reference and cheat sheets.
- Practice exercises for between sessions, and 16 real-world Jamf Pro scenarios (10 to build and 6 to find and fix).
- A harmless sample configuration profile for the profile lab.
- A TexArxs certificate of completion, if you attend at least 6 of the 8 sessions.
